Duruflé’s Requiem – in memory of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent was a singing member of The Bach Choir for 25 years, and if you ask any of our singers about her they will enthuse at length about her friendly nature and her enormous passion for music education.

Duruflé’s Requiem is the work that was sung at her funeral in Westminster Cathedral. This year, we’ll be dedicating our performance of this work at Holy Trinity Sloane Square on 19 March to her memory. In honour of The Duchess, we’ll also be fund-raising for the charity that she co-founded, Future Talent.

Future Talent supports young musicians from low-income backgrounds from across the UK, who show great potential but don’t have the financial means to pursue their passion. The Duchess was very passionate about the charity, which under her guidance grew from supporting just one musician to 150 young people each year.

Future Talent receive no government funding – so please consider supporting them so that they can continue to create real opportunities for young musicians to thrive. Donate to Future Talent here now.
