Recently this video provoked a lot of conversation on our social media accounts. This is a question for both audiences and for choir members – do you think that singing without a score (or watching a choir sing without scores) fosters a deeper relationship between the performers and the audience?
Obviously we can’t perform the entirety of the St Matthew Passion without scores, but we wouldn’t be that surprised if some of our membership could – there’s a lot of combined experience of this work within the choir.
Make sure you don’t miss the St Matthew Passion 2026 at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 8 March. Book your tickets here now.
